Susan originally started her career at U.C.L.A. as an ancient, and then, African/Oceanic Art historian. Artisans and shamans make art for the sole purpose of healing individuals through visual transcendence and non-verbal communication. Learning that, she then quickly changed her philosophical studies into art. Studying at Pilchuck, Corning, Penland, other glass schools, and with outstanding glass masters, the work has grown into the sometimes-provocative sculpture that has been creating for the past ten years.
