Chris Brundage was born in Poughkeepsie, New York. After ten years in New York, his father decided to move to Arizona to start his own welding studio. Chris’ mother was a seamstress and a painter. Chris attended Collins College in Phoenix and graduated with a graphic design degree. Afterwards, he studied at Bullseye Glass Company in Portland, learning techniques such as fusing glass, slumping, and casting. The artist works to create visual stimulation for his clients experimenting with different color combinations.
Will Hardwick, Brundage’s father-in-law, joined forces with him over five years ago in Sedona, Arizona, to create ’Ohana Design Studio. “Ohana” translates to “family” in Hawaiian; the name suited the team perfectly as Hardwick established Kuivato in Tlaquepaque over 45 years ago with Deanne Sabeck.
Ohana Design Studio is known for their Heishi Collection of rings and bracelets. Each piece is of the finest American-made pewter and Austrian Swarovski crystal stones and rondelles. The bracelets and rings are one size fits all. The jewelry has no clasp, so it is easy to gently roll over a hand or finger. The metal pewter is hypoallergenic which is a bonus to those who cherish this unique and sensitive collection.
